Kelvin Before Gumbi (KBG), the chief executive officer and host of ZaNyImbo TV, recently represented Malawi at the African Social Media Influencers Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. According to Malawi24, KBG stated that the gathering helped boost the country's visibility within Africa's social media economy. The summit brought together digital storytellers and media voices from over 30 African nations to discuss industry trends under the theme "Influencing for a Better Africa."
During the summit, conversations centred on artificial intelligence in storytelling, practical influence, and the economics of African content creation, reports Malawi24. KBG observed that while Malawian creators remain underrepresented in regional digital circles, participating in such events helps connect local influencers with the brands and decision-makers who direct the continent's digital content market.
In local music news, Malawian artist Waxy Kay is currently promoting individual tracks from his latest album titled "Art of Love." According to Zedwap Music, the artist released the introductory track from the 15-track album this week on digital platforms, offering fans fresh access to the project that originally debuted in March.
