The 2026 Korean Cultural Festival recently took place in Lilongwe to promote cultural exchange and diplomacy between Malawi and South Korea, according to Nation Online. Organised by the local Korean community, the event brought together Malawians and Korean residents through a public showcase of traditional Korean food, music, and dance.
Speaking at the festival, South Korean Ambassador Park Jae-Kyung highlighted the common cultural values shared by the two nations, such as strong family ties, care for children, and respect for elders, Nation Online reports. Minister of Natural Resources and Culture Patricia Wiskes was also in attendance at the event, which organisers say serves as a continuing platform to deepen friendship and mutual understanding between the countries.
