The Save the Poor Foundation (SAPOF) has launched an initiative in Blantyre's Mpapa Education Zone aimed at helping teenage mothers return to the classroom. According to Pan African Visions, SAPOF Programmes Manager Thembisile Mvula noted that financial constraints, childcare responsibilities, and social pressures are the primary obstacles preventing young mothers from resuming their education. In response, the organisation is providing school materials and working with local authorities to build community support for the readmission of teen mothers.
In higher education news, Mzuzu University (MZUNI) recently concluded a specialised training programme for court clerks, research assistants, and reporters to improve the accuracy of court interpretation and records management. Pan African Visions reports that the training focused on legal translation, professional ethics, and transcription to handle complex legal terminology and multiple languages in the judicial system.
