In a separate development, the University of Malawi launched a two-day digital skills training program for 75 female police officers, according to a university statement. The initiative, hosted by the university's Department of Computing, is designed to improve the operational effectiveness of officers working in the Criminal Investigations Department, public relations, and prosecution. Superintendent Josephine Chigawa, who coordinates female officers in the Malawi Police Service, noted that the training is essential because modern law enforcement increasingly relies on computers and digital literacy.
