According to Nyasa Times, the M'mbelwa District Council has unveiled a K559 million house and a K370 million bridge in Mzimba Hora under the Constituency Development Fund. The heavy spending comes amid a prolonged legal battle over the area's representation, as the High Court previously ruled that voters were bribed during the election and declared Member of Parliament Martha Mzomera Ngwira not duly elected. Ngwira has appealed the nullification to the Supreme Court of Appeal, which has yet to issue a final ruling.

In a separate election dispute, Nation Online reports that the High Court has suspended hearings in the case between Democratic Progressive Party legislator Alfred Gangata and Malawi Congress Party candidate George Zulu. The legal battle over the Lilongwe City Mtandire-Mtsiriza Constituency parliamentary election has been paused pending a directive from the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal.

On the anti-graft front, concerns continue to mount over the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. According to Africa Confidential, the agency remains without a substantive Director General. The vacancy has persisted amid political maneuvering and controversies surrounding acting director Gabriel Chembezi, whose tenure has faced scrutiny over links to the ongoing Amaryllis Hotel procurement scandal.
