Local media reports indicate that the minister emphasised the need for continuous professional development and better working conditions to meet the educational goals of the Malawi 2063 agenda.
In university sports, the Tertiary Education Student Sports Association of Malawi (TESSAM) has finalised the line-up for the National Bank of Malawi TESSAM Games Top Eight Championship. Malawi24 reports that teams from major institutions including the University of Malawi (UNIMA), Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), Mzuzu University (MZUNI), and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) qualified through recent regional tournaments. The finalists will compete in men's football, women's football, and netball during the national championships scheduled for October 17 and 18.
Additionally, the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) has opened applications for its Master of Science in Environmental Health programme for the September 2027 intake. According to the university's official announcements, the programme offers limited DAAD scholarships for both national and international candidates and is aimed at training professionals in public health, epidemiology, and environmental pollution control.
