The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) has released its undergraduate admission lists for the 2026/2027 academic year. According to the university's official communications released on April 9, LUANAR selected 1,702 candidates for its standard intake, comprising 485 females and 1,217 males. An additional 1,130 candidates were admitted through the Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) campus.

LUANAR officials stated that selection was based on merit and government policy. The university noted that all admitted students will be self-sponsored and non-residential due to limited classroom space. Admission letters are scheduled to be dispatched during the week of April 13.

In other higher education news, the University of Malawi (UNIMA) announced that its first graduation congregation of 2026 will take place on April 29. According to a university notice, Vice-Chancellor Professor Samson Sajidu will preside over the morning and afternoon ceremonies at the Great Hall in Zomba, where academic degrees will be conferred across multiple disciplines.
